Harry S. Lee, LAc entered the healthcare field because he wanted to help people address their health problems using the body's inherent ability to heal itself in tandem with acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition to discover and treat the root of the health issue, as well as its symptoms.
Mr. Lee is a descendent of a long line of acupuncturists. His grandfather was a pharmacist and an acupuncturist in Korea. His mother has been practicing acupuncture and traditional oriental medicine for over 20 years in California. Mr. Lee has witnessed what oriental medicine and acupuncture can achieve with a broad range of patients, including those that have grown dissatisfied with Western Medicine and those that continue to treat with Western Medicine.
Mr. Lee has personally received the benefits of acupuncture and treatments with traditional oriental medicine. As a child, he was misdiagnosed and over medicated for health ailments. His well-meaning doctors treated his symptoms with various medications, but did not discover the cause of those symptoms. After weeks of testing, and after taking prescribed medication after prescribed medication and enduring their side-effects, his doctors advised that his liver be taken out. Mr. Lee's mother decided to employ her knowledge of acupuncture and oriental medicine to treat her son. After several weeks of bed rest to allow his body to heal itself, treating with acupuncture, and taking herbs, his symptoms disappeared, his health returned, and his liver remained wholly in tact.
Mr. Lee graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in sociology, and earned his masters degree in acupuncture and traditional oriental medicine from South Baylo University.
In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicines, Mr. Lee utilizes his knowledge of highly nutritious "superfoods" and functional medicine to help his patient's achieve their health goals. Mr. Lee's view is that treatment within the Western Medical establishment and treatment with acupuncture and oriental medicine need not be mutually exclusive, as long as the care and treatment is provided by a highly trained, licensed healthcare professional devout to the hippocratic oath and the patient's well-being. His goal is not to supplant the advice of his patients' medical doctors or other primary healthcare providers, but to supplement his patients' treatment by providing alternative treatments and approaches.
In the spirit of full-disclosure, Mr. Lee has and intends to continue to treat with his acupuncturist, chiropractor, dentist, and primary medical doctor (as the need arises).
Mr. Lee intends to earn a doctorate in the area of acupuncture and traditional oriental medicine. Mr. Lee is an avid golfer, and enjoys sprinting and weight training. He also treasures the time spent with his wife and his two sons.
